Shevonn Willis, the founder and Managing Partner of The Smith Willis Firm, has been diligently protecting her clients’ interests for over 10 years. Shevonn is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Illinois and has litigated numerous cases in both state and federal court.
Over the course of Shevonn’s career she has gained valuable insight into the legal issues affecting businesses and individuals. Shevonn assists companies in matters related to business formation as well as drafting and reviewing contracts. She also helps clients understand and stay compliant with the multitude of federal and state laws that govern the workplace by providing advice on employment matters as well as the legal aspects and implications of insurance in addition to estate planning.
Before founding The Smith Willis Firm, Shevonn worked for Tressler LLP, a nationally recognized law firm. She rose to the level of Of Counsel, providing her expertise on complex legal issues on multi-million dollar matters. Prior to Tressler, Shevonn gained valuable insight into the federal court system while she was a judicial extern for the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Shevonn’s early experience also included studying European Union Law in Rome, Italy, where she learned the dynamics of contract laws in other countries and mechanisms businesses can use to deal with insecurity about product delivery and payment.
Shevonn Willis received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and received her Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2004.
Shevonn Willis has been honored with a number of awards including being selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for three consecutive years. Super Lawyer is a rating service for outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Shevonn Willis is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, Gwinnett Bar Association, American Bar Association, Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, The 1818 Club, and Rotary Club of Gwinnett County.
